About the Founder
Meet Barbara Eakins, she took part of her retirement and opened the Cat's Meow Rescue and Adoption Center 4 years ago. Barbara was starting her funding campaign to ask 1000 people to donate $52.00 a year so the shelter can operate. Unfortunately 3 years ago due to a medical procedure that went bad and left her legally blind, so she cannot drive anymore. Barbara is the shelters main source of funding thus creating a hardship financially due to her medical bills.
The Cat's Meow depends solely on donation funds and volunteers. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, 100% no-kill shelter and your donations are tax deductible.
Kitten season is quickly upon us donations are needed and GREATLY appreciated. So PLEASE, PLEASE help us to help these beautiful furry friends find their fur-ever home. All cats/kittens receive a full vet examination, spay or neutered and vaccines before adoption at the shelters expense.
In the past 4 years, The Cat's Meow has adopted out nearly 2000 lucky cats and kittens and we would like to continue this mission for many years to come.
The Cat's Meow Rescue and Adoption Center is located at 126 43rd Ave. in Vero Beach, Fl 32968
